Re: Updates (Library)

Looks good, thanks. Those Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables can be real head-scratchers at times. I'll see what I can do. :) EDIT: Looks like VB6 was excluded and I was getting the "file exists" error with extras.exe -- it needed the /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES switch. Fixed and repackaged now. :)

Re: Library

The following is an FYI to anyone who is considering contributing to this library: Once anything is shared here then you lose any claim to "ownership" of it. Taking credit for your work is perfectly okay -- and in fact, it is encouraged -- but ownership is not. With the obvious exceptions...

Re: Updates (Library)

The apps and games deployment library has been moved (yet again) to this: http://www.lastos.org/team/library/

Hopefully avoiding use of wording like "repository" or "repo" will help prevent this from happening again. Hopefully.

Re: Updates (Repository)

Just an FYI... Yesterday, I restored a bunch of .apz that someone had purposely deleted recently. They probably thought they had some sort of right to do so; but once anything is shared here then they lose any claim to "ownership" of it. Taking credit for one's work is perfectly okay -- an...

Re: SetupS Sendto Suite (Latest)

A small hiccup in the latest is that if a .ico file is located elsewhere other than the folder where the app is being created it will not import/copy the .ico file into that folder. For example if I extract the .ico file out to desktop and show ssEditor the .ico to use, it never gets put in the fol...

A "Universal" Virtual Machine

Does anyone have (or know of) a QEMU (or Bochs ) working with any Windows 7 build? These two are nice because I can run 64-bit guest OSArches on 32-bit hosts. I never really did get a satisfactory answer for this inquiry; so in my own quest found out for myself how to do this, the following is what...

Even Windows 8 Users Prefer Windows 7

Even Windows 8 Users Prefer Windows 7 Windows 8 is not proving an instant hit amongst the early adopters who have got their hands on it. More than half of them prefer Windows 7 , according to a survey by a Windows 8 forum. Skeptics cited fears of price and compatibility issues. Meanwhile, Intel is ...

Re: File-Naming Best Practices

Wow, haven't visited this thread in a while. Which is probably a good thing; means that the file-naming "standard" seems to be working and didn't need revised... till now. Briefly, and to put it simply, Trouba has come up with another scheme for "DualArch" ppApps. First let's hav...

Re: The Pirate Bay Launches Free VPN

Wow, guess not. They apparently block ALL ports including any VPN pass-throughs; which many consider to be bad-manners on the part of any provider to block those because of various attacks on wifi connections that VPN shields user from -- not to mention that some connect to work via VPN... :::sigh::...
